Cleanliness
We are meticulous about keeping dust and dirt to an absolute minimum when we work. When possible we use a cobra dust containment system which is an industry standard tool to contain nearly all dust. When we can’t use this tool we become plastic and masking tape ninjas to keep all messes to an absolute minimum. We will protect the permanent fixtures in your home while we work. We vacuum walls, ledges, alcoves and every nook and cranny where flooring grime may collect during our work on your project.
Berkeley Hardwood Floors’ goal is for you to enjoy your new space as soon as our work is done with minimal secondary cleanup on your part.

Support for Your Floor
A properly built, and maintained hardwood floor will last many generations. It all starts with the right wood and installation including proper stains and finishes. Lifespan of a floor depends on the health of your top coat. Periodically you’ll want to buff & coat your floor to add a new top-layer. Keeping this surface built-up allows it to take wear instead of the wood and refreshes the look of your floor.
Top-coating services are recommended every two to three years, depending on how much abuse your floor takes. When you start noticing wear on your floor it’s time to contact us. Don’t wait until the wood begins to get damaged – buffing & coating is a LOT less work and expense than wearing a floor through to the wood, which requires sanding, staining, and refinishing.

Nothing we do is cookie-cutter or mass produced, our projects shine in their precision, and very high standards. Berkeley Hardwood Floors uses tools and techniques that are tested thoroughly and have been handed down over generations.
